Day 24 April 8, 2020
Kirkwood South Park Houston,Texas 77089
This is Day 24 by my count. Where do you start your Quarantine Count? I have stayed out the downtown area for the past two weeks to minimize my contact with others. I am sure others want to minimize their contact with me, without a doubt. It is for that reason that most of my posts throughout the week have been in the outlying green spaces.
The pictures from yesterday and today are from Harris County parks. These parks will be closed over the Easter weekend. This is a good thing. You can thank Harris County Judge and full-time Wonder Woman, Lina Hidalgo for making a gutsy call. It is this type of action which all true Chingonas are made of.
There are some parents who are besides themselves because they will not be able to take their kids Easter Egg hunting.
As of this writing, Mayor Turner has not closed the parks for this weekend. If he does not, then 3 months down the road when half of Houston is sick and dying and NRG is filled to capacity, it will be traced back to Easter Sunday - Black Sunday in Houston.
Will everyone who is careless enough to go to a crowded park on Easter Sunday in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic were masks?
No, they will not. I will have the pictures to prove it.
