Day 46 April 30, 2020
A view from the observation point at Hobby Airport
It is one of those days when working from for the past 5 weeks starts to get to you. There comes that time when you feel that you need to take a drive, maybe smoke a cigarette with that car window rolled down. Maybe listen to the radio? But who listens to the radio anymore? Now you can just plug your phone into the car stereo system and listen to what ever you want.
Times continue to change.
During one of my drives earlier this week I came upon this old house on the outskirts of Hobby Airport, the south end of the airport to be exact. At the time I had no camera with me other that the iPhone camera but it was busy playing DJ and podcasts.
Therefore, on Day 46, today, with the beautiful sunset on the horizon I decided to take a drive to the place. I got these pictures.
Times have changed for this place, without a doubt. I wonder what is was and who it was in its heyday. What kind of cars used the circular driveway? Who drove them? A driveway once serving as a gateway to the cozy interior now plays host to weeds and curiosity seekers.
I nominate this place for a haunting.
The address is 9317 Telephone Rd. There is actually a name on a plaque above the doorway, B. Young Jr.
