Day 18 April 02, 2021 “Ain’t That America?”
Here we are at Day 18. Yes, "day" is capitalized because this is no ordinary 19th day of anything. We are experiencing a time unique to the American experience, or at least unique to mine. It does not appear that people are practicing much of a "Social Distance". It is a culture thing I suppose.
"Ain't that America? Pretty pink houses for you and me."
We cannot, although I have, lay blame for this crisis to those in office. We elected them because they told us any shit we wanted to hear. Now they are saying shit we want no part of because, "This is free country! I have rights!" Yes, I suppose you do.
John F. Kennedy once said, "Success has many fathers. Failure is an orphan." Therefore, step up and practice Social Distancing. Does it really take 10 family members to go to the store to purchase a gallon of water?
So let this picture of our American flag, taken on the corner of Hall Rd. and Blackhawk, be a symbol of futures yet to come and not grave marker for past mistakes.
If I can impart any advice it would be this:
Don't count the days. Make the day count!
