Day 10 March 25, 2020

Day-10_DSC4904.jpg

As the official word went out to Houstonians on March 24, 2020 to “Stay Home”, the streets became more deserted than ever before. I was able to stand in the middle of Memorial Drive this morning with out a worry of any cars hindering my picture taking or running over me for that matter. Keep in mind that I pulled over next to some construction barrels which afforded me a little latitude. However, in a BQ morning this was one of the busiest streets leading into downtown Houston from the west side. (BQ = Before Quarantine)

Once inside it was somewhat of a challenge to find anything open in the Houston Tunnel System. Some scramble for toilet paper. I would rather have coffee and some scrambled eggs. Desolate is the only word which comes to mind. The chairs resting upside down on the tables as if the floors had just been swept and mopped, a routine chore having taken place almost two weeks ago.
