Day 16 March 31, 2020 “Kirkwood South Park is Closed”
Today is the first day of me working out of the house. I have Andy with me - the little spoiled dog! I managed to keep on schedule with his walks. I like keeping him active. This morning I took him to Kirkwood South Park, just around the corner. This park has an extensive playground but it was closed off with CAUTION tape. From a distance it could almost be CRIME SCENE tape. What is going on right now could be considered a crime.
Caution, caution, caution, caution all over the place, all over the playground. It is roped off as if an unspeakable act occurred here and is still under investigation. Or even worse, whatever occurred here might rub off on you if you should step beyond the yellow line.
The funny thing is I never use any of the playground equipment like the swings. Today I wanted to because I couldn't! The things we take for granted is a common theme in what we are experiencing this very day. Is it time to count our blessings? What is that "they" say, "Never count your money at the table..."
You will know what you have lost soon enough.
What if things never get back to normal? What if WE never get back to normal? The events of the past couple of weeks are unlike anything we have experienced in the past; with maybe the exception of a hurricane. However, that type of lockdown lasts hours if not for a few days.
I paused a little to reflect.
Today was a little different. I am usually in a rush when I walk Andy, constantly coaxing him to, “potty Andy!”, as if he knows what I am saying. Today there was no rushing at all. I just enjoyed the cool breeze and the scenery all around me even if the park was closed.
